Storage Space Allocations

Rednote offers different storage plans:

  • 15GB (Most users have this plan)
  • 25GB
  • Unlimited

By default, most users have 15GB of storage. You can check your current storage usage in your account settings.

Your total storage is shared across all Rednote features, including:

  • Rednote (Reserved for Emergency Delivery) – Video messages and delivery instructions stored for future delivery.
  • Familex (Family Information Library and Exchange) – Documents and media files related to family archives.
  • Sparks+ – Interactions, relationship history, etc
  • Other upcoming Rednote features in future updates.

If you reach your storage limit, you won’t be able to upload new content until you:

  • Cancel older Rednote consignments
  • Delete existing Familex media files to free up space.
  • Compress your files or use zip files before uploading.
  • Subscribe to a higher storage plan for more capacity.

You can check your storage usage in your Rednote account settings under the “Storage Usage” section.

Yes! If you need more space, you can subscribe to a higher storage plan through your account settings.

The option to upgrade will appear when you use more than 90% of your storage.

No, Rednote does not delete your files automatically. However, if your account exceeds its storage limit, you will need to delete files or upgrade your plan to continue using the service.

Yes, as Rednote introduces new features in the future, they may also use your allocated storage space if you use these features. We recommend keeping an eye on your usage and upgrading if needed.

The file size of your video after uploading may differ from the original size due to:

  • Embed of delivery instructions together with your Rednote video message.
  • Encryption processes that secure your data.
  • Metadata storage related to the Rednote system for future reassembly.
  • Compression and formatting adjustments to ensure compatibility and efficient storage.

This means that a video file you upload may take up slightly more or less space than expected. If you are managing storage limits, keep this in mind when uploading large files.
